We’ve spent the last 5 years building our homestead from the ground up. Here’s a little tour!

When we first bought our beautiful property on the Big Island of Hawai’i it was a mix of forest and brush and totally undeveloped. We hired land clearing machines, set up our rain water catchment and started building our bathhouse. Next was our solar system and then our school bus which would act as our bedroom/kitchen/living room while we build our main house.

It’s been constant work since we moved onto our property but it’s all going towards the goal of a thriving organic homestead and farm.

Our place is totally off grid, we get our electricity from the sun and water from the rain. We use as much local wood, refurbished materials and thrifted goods as we can. Roy and I have worked together to create all the buildings and plant all the trees and plants.

It’s forever growing and evolving!

Our homestead is forever growing and evolving, a new project each year and constant creating.

Our bathhouse in our beautiful rainbow country.

Our current home, our school bus acts as our bedroom and our lanai and kitchen are built in front.

My personal creative space, La Lady Cave.
